Canberra 2016

Canberra Stampshow 2016

Canberra Stampshow 2016, the nineteenth Biennial National Philatelic Convention staged by the Philatelic Society of Canberra Inc.

Our themes this year are the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Immigrant Ship, the SS Gange, from Malta and the 50th anniversary of Decimal Currency.

There will be two National exhibitions in Australia in 2016. They will be half national exhibitions with Canberra and Mandurah sharing the classes. Our exhibition will have Postal History (all three sections), Postal Stationery, Youth, Open, Maximaphily, Frugal, First Day Covers and an experimental Topical Class. In addition all state level classes will be available.

Don’t forget that the show is part of the annual Celebrate Canberra Festival and our exhibition will be a featured event, together with many other exciting events.  If you are an early riser the balloon festival (on every morning weather permitting) is great to see and go for a ride over Canberra.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the show.
Darryl Fuller
