Canberra Stampshow 2024
12-15 September 2024
Canberra StampShow 2024 – An Outstanding success
Nearly 2000 collectors, enthusiasts, families & children came to view, buy and experience the Canberra StampShow over its three and a half days. Even before open time midday Thursday a long queue of expectant collectors had formed to visit & purchase souvenirs.
Many of our 40 dealer stands did some of their best trade on Thursday with steady sales through to Sunday afternoon. Dealers were also able to swap & trade amongst themselves and connect with their clientele in person.
Australia Post did a brisk daily trade with patient queues for their special offerings and show day cancellations.
Free family passes handed out through schools, community groups and TV stations encouraged a wide range of people to come and experience the world of stamp & coin collecting.
The Royal Australian Mint (RAM) sponsored a range of lucky door prizes, including kids surprise gift bags, coin albums and rolled box sets of King Charles III coinage.
Close to 100 visiting children and their families were gifted a special RAM coin plus stamp albums & of course stamps.
Finally, here’s what people said about the show…
- I hope to get to the next Canberra show many people are raving about what a success it was
- It surpassed the best Canberra shows I have attended (many!)
- From the winner of the lucky door prize draw – ‘Wow thanks fantastic. We had an awesome time there on the weekend and both my 11- and 12-year-old daughters said they felt like VIPs the way they were treated and although both were already interested in collecting the show has really shown what a great community it is to be involved in.’
One of the most important aspects of the Stamp Shows is the
opportunity to connect with fellow collectors and enthusiasts. You can swap
stories, share tips, find material for your collections and forge friendships with people who share your passion. The
camaraderie among collectors is unmatched, creating an atmosphere of warmth
and shared enthusiasm.
